Series 166 of record group 58-17 consists of a survey map (ca. 1859-1865) of the East Saginaw and Au Sable (or Sable) State Road, originally collected by the Michigan Lands Division. The road was established by Public Act 117 of 1859. The map documents the area between Saginaw, Michigan and Bay City, Michigan (T.12 N., R.5-6 E., T.13 N., R.5-6 E., T.14 N., R.5 E.). Shows rivers, trees, clearings, timber lands, marshes and some cultural features, not extensive (houses, Indian village in Saginaw County). The map is 16 1/2" x 13 1/2" in size, with a scale of 40 chns. : 1 inch.
